November 17th (Sunday) “Workshop: Appreciating Japanese Dance and Learning Beautiful Movements”

We are pleased to announce a special and intimate Japanese dance workshop featuring Ms. Hiromi Onoe, a certified instructor and master of the Onoe school of Japanese dance from Tokyo.


In this workshop, participants will have the chance to enjoy a Japanese dance performance and learn elegant movements that can be incorporated into daily life.


Ms. Hiromi Onoe, who began studying Japanese dance and ballet at the age of three, will showcase her graceful dance with careful attention to every detail down to each fingertip. Her dignified presence and moving performance are sure to resonate deeply.

Started training in Japanese dance and ballet at the age of 3.Recipient of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology Award, 1st Place, for the children's ballet group dance performance "Tanuki."

1991Granted the name Onoe Hiromi as a certified performer (Natori) of the Onoe School of Japanese Dance.

2001Obtained instructor certification as a master of the Onoe School of Japanese Dance.Founded Warabi to foster the next generation of dancers, holding biannual recitals.

2003For 10 years, co-hosted the traditional arts event Kyogen × Japanese Dance “Chinchirorin” each October at a private temple in Kyoto.

2008Founded Wafure, a Japanese-inspired lingerie line, handling design and production.

2011Held and directed her own dance recital, Hakugakuten, at the Okyo Hall behind the Tokyo Museum.

2018Co-hosted Utsuyaka, a collaborative performance of Buddhist Kannon dance and Japanese dance at the Ikedayama Noh Theater in Gotanda, Tokyo.

2019Placed 3rd in the Madame Ballet Grand Prix 2019.

2020Organized Utsuyaka violin and Japanese dance performance at the Tessen-kai Noh Theatre Training Institute in Omotesando, Tokyo.
